Congratulations 2020 SCS 3MT Competition final winners
By Hudson Institute communications
Congratulations to our PhD students who presented their exceptional research at this year’s SCS Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition final on Friday, 12 June.
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT™) is a national research communication competition that celebrates exciting research conducted by PhD research students. Students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. 3MT challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-scientific audience.
Ben Amberg was placed first in the senior category with his presentation on fetal surgery research, followed by second place winner Ellen Jarred. Both Ben and Ellen will go on to compete in the Faculty 3MT final which will be held from 12pm Friday, 3 July to 11am Friday, 10 July.
Congratulations also to Madeleine Wemyss (Centre for Innate Immunity and Infectious Diseases) who was awarded runner up in the Monash BDI 3MT competition for her presentation on ‘The Salmonella Effector toolkit’.
