Congratulations to our PhD students who presented their exceptional research at this year’s School of Clinical Sciences Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition final on Friday, 18 June.
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT™) is a national research communication competition that celebrates exciting research conducted by PhD research students. Students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. 3MT challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-scientific audience.
Penny Whiley placed first in the senior category with her presentation on ‘Very ‘Importin’ Proteins make Very Important People’, followed by second place winner Holly Ung presenting ‘Infiltrating the networks of a peacemaker’.
Both Penny and Holly will go on to compete in the Faculty 3MT final which will be held from 12pm Friday, 18 June to 11am Friday, 25 June.
Congratulations also to Madeleine Smith (The Ritchie Centre) who was awarded 3rd place in the senior category, ‘Toilet paper, T-cells and Tacrolimus’.
