Project description

The development of clinically relevant cancer models that recapitulate human cancer is key to both understanding biological mechanisms of cancer growth as well fine tuning therapeutic cancer treatments. In this project, the student will work with both human tissues and animal models to develop 3-dimensional organotypic culture of genetically defined cancer models. Using CRISPR and other technologies we will genetically manipulate these models, and assess the contribution of new targets in mediating cancer growth. See our recent paper (Dannappel M., Zhu D., et al. J. Clin. Inves. 2022).
