Rob’s experience

Rob joined Hudson Institute in 2021 from the Bureau of Meteorology, following three decades working in a variety of science communication and media roles.

Beginning with a decade as a journalist at the ABC, specialising in news and sport, Rob then moved into TV production creating content for major sporting events in Australia and around the world including Olympic Games and Grand Slam tennis events.

The most recent phase of his career has seen Rob combining his media and communications skills, working with scientists in the environment, clean energy and weather and climate sectors to help them share their work with the widest possible audience.

A little more about Rob

Outside work, Rob is a father of two boys (Search & Destroy) who enjoys cooking, trivia, motorcycling and sports of all sorts…some of which he still insists on attempting to play.

Rob says

“Helping scientists turn technical language into digestible, engaging content is a tremendously satisfying thing. Seeing how they can advance through better communicating their work with the world is the cherry on top.”
