Biography

Dr Laura Moffitt’s research is dedicated to improving outcomes for people with ovarian cancer – the most lethal cancer of the female reproductive system.

Dr Moffitt’s research explores the mechanisms by which the disease spreads and develops resistance to treatment, with a particular interest in a subset of tumour cells that play a key role in driving metastasis and suppressing the immune response. By identifying ways to disrupt the behaviour of these invasive cells, her research aims to develop targeted therapies that slow disease progression, overcome chemoresistance and reduce the risk of recurrence.

Ultimately, Dr Moffitt’s goal is to enhance survival for those affected by this devastating disease.
